What was it like...? Emma Gibbons

We recently asked Emma Gibbons about her time so far at Equilibrium, all 11 years of them! We will be asking other staff members the same questions during our countdown to our 21st birthday - so keep your eyes peeled for them too!

Tell us a memory of when you first joined Equilibrium.

When I joined Equilibrium, we were just about to move office so one of my first memories was helping to pack up the old office in Handforth village! I remember thinking how much space we had in the new office – but over the years we have definitely filled it as the team has grown massively.

What has been the biggest change since you joined?

The growth of the company in the last 10 years has been phenomenal. We are now a team of 57 and work with more than 800 families - it has been lovely to see us go from strength to strength.

What do you think has been your greatest success?

I have really enjoyed building strong relationships with the clients, providing a friendly face when they come to the office or an event.

What has been your biggest personal challenge?

Over the ten years that I have been with Equilibrium our growth has meant lots of change to improve our systems to ensure we continue to deliver an excellent service to our clients. This has meant getting to grips with lots of new processes – for example, a new database. It has certainly been very fast-paced but this is one of the things I enjoy about my role as I am always learning new things.

What is your best memory from your time at EQ?

My fondest memories are always of the client Christmas parties. We run these each year and it has been great to see them grow in number and size. This year we are hosting a special 21st anniversary celebration for our clients at Tatton Park – so I am definitely looking forward to that and seeing lots of familiar faces.

What do you hope to achieve in the coming year?

My goal is to continue to build strong relationships with our clients and on a personal level I’m getting married this July so that will definitely be a highlight of the year!
